My response will be:
Western mindset wants us to choose --- an either-or mindset. A pessimist vs. an optimist.
However, there is a better mindset.
The Chinese mindset can embrace both and do the right thing at the right time and for the right people.
The Chinese mindset answer will be:
"I am grateful I have half the resources and happier that there are
opportunities for growth with the resources that I got."
