Integrating GenAI into Your Writing & Presentation

Integrating GenAI into Your Writing & Presentation

With the introduction of PC, we begin with using Word software like WordStar, and later WordPerfect, and then Windows-Office Word, for typing our document in place of the typewriter.  The word software later added a spell-checker, and then a thesaurus,  and later a grammar checker. Now we should get GenAI to help us. Advanced grammar checker now integrated an AI to help us rephrase our sentence construction. Now sure how GenAI assisted writing will develop over the future.

In the meantime, we can do that manually by:

1. write our drafts first. Even just in point forms. Do not worry about spelling or grammar.

2. feed our draft to the GenAI such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, DouBao, or DeepSeek etc.

3. Based on their answers, we can continue to improve our draft and feeding back to GenAI.

4. We can even feed the answer from one GenAI to another.

5. We can ask another GenAI to integrate the answers of other GenAIs.

6. After a few integrations where we expand our draft to include new viewpoints and knowledge learned, we can redraft and improve by feeding our latest draft to a GenAI to rephrase with specific instructions like making it more heart-warming, etc.

Using the above passage as an example, I fed it to DeepSeek and ChatGPT.

The evolution of writing tools has been remarkable. We began with typewriters, transitioned to word processors like WordStar and WordPerfect, and eventually embraced Microsoft Word. These tools introduced spell-checkers, thesauruses, and grammar checkers, revolutionizing how we write. Today, Generative AI (GenAI) is the next leap forward, offering advanced capabilities like sentence rephrasing and content enhancement. While it’s uncertain how GenAI-assisted writing will evolve, it’s clear that it’s already a powerful tool for improving our work.

Here’s a practical guide to integrating GenAI into your writing process:

  1. Start with a Draft:
Write your initial draft, even if it’s just in point form. Don’t worry about spelling, grammar, or structure at this stage—focus on getting your ideas down.

  2. Engage GenAI Tools:
Feed your draft to GenAI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, DouBao, or DeepSeek. These tools can help refine your content, suggest improvements, and provide new perspectives.

  3. Iterate and Improve:
Use the feedback from GenAI to enhance your draft. You can repeat this process multiple times, continuously refining your work.

  4. Cross-Pollinate Ideas:
Feed the output from one GenAI tool into another to explore different angles or styles. This can help you uncover unique insights and approaches.

  5. Integrate Multiple Outputs:
Ask one GenAI tool to synthesize or integrate responses from others. This can create a more comprehensive and cohesive final product.

  6. Refine with Specific Instructions:
Once your draft is well-developed, instruct GenAI to rephrase or tailor it to specific needs—for example, making it more engaging, concise, or heartwarming.

By leveraging GenAI in this way, you can elevate your writing and presentations, incorporating new viewpoints and polishing your work to a professional standard. Embrace this technology as a collaborative partner in your creative process.

Integrating GenAI into Your Writing & Presentations

The evolution of writing tools began with the advent of personal computers, replacing typewriters with software like WordStar, WordPerfect, and eventually Microsoft Word. Over time, these programs incorporated features like spell-checkers, thesauruses, and grammar checkers. Today, the next frontier in writing assistance is Generative AI (GenAI). Advanced grammar checkers now integrate AI to refine sentence construction and even rephrase entire drafts. While the full potential of GenAI-assisted writing is yet to unfold, we can already leverage its capabilities effectively.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to integrating GenAI into your writing process:

  1. Draft Your Content
Start by writing a rough draft, even in point form, without worrying about spelling, grammar, or structure. Focus on capturing your ideas.

  2. Leverage GenAI Tools
Feed your draft into GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, DouBao, or DeepSeek. These tools can enhance your writing by suggesting improvements, adding depth, or offering alternative perspectives.

  3. Iterate and Refine
Use the feedback from the GenAI tool to refine your draft. You can continue this process iteratively, feeding the updated draft back to the same or other GenAI tools for further enhancement.

  4. Cross-Validate with Multiple Tools
Consider feeding the responses from one GenAI tool into another. This cross-validation can provide fresh insights and additional refinements.

  5. Integrate Perspectives
If using multiple GenAI tools, ask one of them to consolidate the feedback and integrate the insights into a unified draft.

  6. Enhance and Personalize
Once your draft is well-developed, use GenAI to rephrase or polish it with specific instructions, such as making it more persuasive, heartwarming, concise, or professional, depending on your goals.

By embracing this iterative and collaborative process, you can harness the power of GenAI to elevate the quality, clarity, and creativity of your writing and presentations.

I get Gemini to integrate the two answers from DeepSeek and Gemini:
